There are three kinds of warranties offered by Master Elite contractors. GAF’s strongest warranty is the Golden Pledge Warranty, which covers all of the manufacturer defects for the entire lifetime of the shingle and workmanship defects for 25 years, including roof tear-off and disposal costs. The Silver Pledge Warranty and Systems Plus Warranty also cover all manufacturer defects for the entire lifetime of the shingle but only cover workmanship errors for 10 and two years respectively.
What if you decide not to purchase a warranty? No need to worry; the GAF roofing shingles you purchased are still covered by the GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty that comes with all qualifying GAF accessories.
The GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty—the standard GAF warranty—covers roof repairs due to material defects for a period of 10 years.
If your roof is covered by the GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty or the GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty, there’s no need to register your warranty. However, you do need to hold on to the contract with the roofer who installed your contractor or the receipts from the supply store where you bought your GAF roofing shingles or accessories. You’ll need these in the unlikely event that you need to file a claim.
What about the Golden Pledge, Silver Pledge, and Systems Plus Warranties? They need to be registered, but your GAF-certified contractor will take care of the registration process so you’ll have nothing to worry about.
